  • How do I apply or receive tuition assignments from ChampionTutor? img img

    Visit us at https://www.championtutor.my, under Available Assignments section, you will be able to find our available assignments at the middle section of the page.

    Alternatively, you may like us in our Facebook or follow us in Twitter to receive real time notification of any available assignments.

  • What qualifications do I need to be a tutor at ChampionTutor? img img

    The tutor will have to possess at least Form 5 and above qualification



    2a

    Will It be difficult for me to get a match if I am not a university graduate?

    It depends, however if you find that you do not have much experience or better qualification than the rest of the tutors, it is always advisable to lower down your rate to build up your experience and personal portfolio, and increase your chances of getting a job.

    Am I paid lesser if I am only a diploma student? However, my past students have done well under my tutelage.

    It depends, ultimately it still boils down to your teaching quality, and in order to justify your desired rate in opposed to your qualification, you can always pass us your past students' testimonials, as third party feedback will help us to convince our students, and to secure a better tuition rate for you.

  • How old must I be to register as a tutor at ChampionTutor? img img

    The tutor needs to be at least 16 years to qualify.





  • Is there any registration fee or hidden costs for me to sign up as a tutor? img img

    There are no hidden costs or registration fees to sign up as a tutor.





  • How much commission do I need to pay ChampionTutor? img img

    Our agency's commission is calculated at 50% on the first payment cycle.

    Tuition frequency is usually based on once, twice or thrice a week. Therefore a tuition cycle is calculated in the form of 4 weeks, not subjected to cancellation of lessons.

    Example
    Your rate: RM50/hr
    Frequency: 1 lesson * 1 hour per week
    Tuition Fee (4 weeks): 1 lesson * RM50/hr * 4 weeks = RM200.00
    Our agency commission: RM200.00 * 50% = RM100.00

    Subsequent payment cycles, you will receive in full, agency's commission is only applicable on the first payment cycle.

    Can I commit to a tuition frequency, and change it after the first month?

    Yes you can, just a note, lesson frequency is usually confirmed before we start exchanging the contact details between you and the client, and we strongly encouraged you to abide to the agreed frequency for the first 4 weeks of the lessons.

    How will I be paid?

    Tutor will be paid by the parent directly, either by cash or bank transfer.

  • What happens if the tutor/student terminates the assignment before completing the designated number of lessons for the first month? img img

    If the tuition is terminated before the first tuition cycle is completed, 50% of the agency's commission will still be levied on the number of completed lessons. For instance, if the tutor has completed 4 lessons only, our agency commission will be based on 50% of the 4 lessons completed.

    Is there a minimum commitment of lessons to protect tutors, so that our earnings are guaranteed?

    Unfortunately, there is no penalty held against a minimum period of commitment by both parties, be it student or tutor. However, everyone is advised to commit minimally 4 weeks to the tuition.

  • How do I reset my teaching status from unavailable to available? img img

    Login to your personal account, and set your teaching status as available.



  • By uploading my academic certificates in your portal, will it boast my ranking? img img

    Yes, we will give additional points to tutors who have taken the initiative to upload their certificates online. Rest and be assured, all certificates are treated with the highest confidentiality. Additionally, tutors who have uploaded their certificates online would also assist the coordinators in assigning the tuition job to you in a quicker manner, as verification process is not required anymore.



  • What can I do to increase my chances of getting an assignment? img img

    (a) Upload your qualifications/certificates to your login account as soon as possible
    (b) Do a good write up of your profile.
    (c) Reply promptly when an ad is posted up, or a SMS is being sent to you.
    (d) Obtain good feedbacks from students of your previous assignments, and get them email us about your good performance.
    (e) Speak confidently and clearly over the phone.

    I have just started tutoring, will I still get a chance to teach with ChampionTutor?

    Yes, as long as you have done all the above in point 9.

    9b

    Do I need to meet the parents face-to-face before starting a lesson?

    It depends, however the situation of meeting a parent face-to-face is very rare, and usually your transportation fee will be reimbursed by the client.

    Due to the overwhelming response when we send out the job notification, we regret that only shortlisted tutors will be contacted.



  • How do I close my account? img img

  • How do I stop receiving job notification from ChampionTutor? img img

    Please kindly log in to your profile and set your teaching status as "Unavailable".



  • Am I allowed to teach for another portal or is this freelance basis? img img

    Yes, you are allowed to, unless you have signed a mutually exclusive contract with ChampionTutor



  • Will ChampionTutor report my earning as an employee/freelancer to our tax authority? img img

    No, we will not help to file your earnings. As a freelancer, you are responsible to report your earning as a freelancer tutor to your tax authority yearly.



  • I can teach students from pre-school to university level. Will my profile be listed in all the categories under your view tutors page? img img

    Yes, your profile will be listed in the categories that you have chosen.

  • What are your operating hours? img img

    Mon - Fri 9am - 9pm and Sat 9am - 6pm, we are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.



  • Do I need to pay any agent fee in finding a tutor? img img

    Our service is absolutely free for you. Our agent fee is paid by the tutor.
    However, please take note that for the first payment cycle, you are required to retain first half of the tuition fee (50%), and pay it to us directly.
    We will get it touch with you once the tutor has completed the first half of the tuition cycle.



  • What is considered as a short-term assignment? img img

    Short term assignment is usually less than 12 weeks of lessons, and you are advised to co-share the agent fee with the tutor, as this will increase the chances of finding more quality tutors for you.

    Example
    Rate: RM50/hr
    Frequency: 1 lesson * 1 week
    Tuition Fee (4 weeks): 1 lesson * RM50/hr * 4 weeks = RM200.00

    On a normal basis, which is more than 12 weeks of lessons, tutor will bear the full 50% agent fee for the first payment cycle.
    You are advised to co-share (50%) the agent fee to increase the chances for more tutors to apply for your request.
    Tuition Fee (4 weeks): 1 lesson * RM50/hr * 4 weeks = RM200.00 + RM50.00 (one-off)
    (1) Agent Fee: RM100.00 and (2) Tutor: RM150.00
    Subsequent payment cycles, it will resume to RM200.00 and you will pay tutor in full.

    What is the lead time of my request(s)? What is your service level agreement?

    Within 2 working days. We do not have any service level agreement presently.

  • How do I make payments to you? img img

    1. Credit card payment
    2. Internet Bank Transfer
    3. Cheque

    Payment invoice is sent once the first lesson has completed, and payment details can be found in it.

    How can I be sure if the payment is secured?

  • What are the tuition rates like for a tutor? img img

    Private tuition is considered as a freelancing job, as such, tutors' rate varies, and it can be found in the tutor request form during your sign up. Feel free to speak to our customer support for more pricing advice.

    I would like to have a better understanding of the tuition fee at this moment.

    Pre-school: RM30.00/hr - RM60.00/hr
    UPSR: RM40.00/hr - RM75.00/hr
    PMR: RM45.00/hr - RM80.00/hr
    SPM: RM55.00/hr - RM100.00/hr

  • What if I am dissatisfied with my tutor? img img

    For any reason that the tutor did not meet your expectations, please kindly contact your coordinator, and they will help to assist on the lesson cancellation and finding a replacement for you.

    Will I be charged for the lesson?

    Lesson is still chargeable, unless agreed beforehand by the agency or the tutor that is is a free trial lesson.

    8b

    What is your policy like, in the event of grievance, or unprofessionalism by the tutors?

    Tutors who have performed unprofessionally will be either downgraded by our internal ranking system, and in return, affecting their chances of getting new jobs from us, or they will be blacklisted from our system totally and barred from taking up any jobs.
